TERMS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT COMPUTERS

BANDWIDTH :- A measure of the maximum amount of data that can be transferred over a connection.

BIOS :- Baic Input Output System. Doftware built into all PCs to control the basic operation of devices.

BURNING :- The act of writing data onto a CD or DVD.

COMPRESSION :- The process of reducing a file's size by encoding the data.

DEFINITION FILE :- A file containing the details of security threats.

DVD :- A disc able to store upto 4.7GB of data.

EULA :- A licence that must be agreed to before software can be used.

GB :- Gigabyte. A measurement of storage, usually for hard disks.

MB :- Megabyte. A measurement of storage, usually for PC memory.

BEAM ROBOTICS

BEAM is an acronym for 'biology-electronics-aesthetics-mechanics', coined by the famous roboticist Mark W. Tilden. BEAM robotics is essentially a philosphy of building robots out of discrete electronic components. These robots do not use any kind of programmable device like microprocessors or microcontrollers.
